It all began on July 4, 1984 when the Bay Mills Tribe of Ojibwe Indians opened the doors of their multi-purpose community center. Inside was an oval arrangement of fifteen Blackjack tables, each with a neatly dressed but nervous, first time dealer. That was long ago in the evolution of their gaming enterprise. That original casino, now called Kings Club was America's first tribally operated blackjack casino. It has since undergone a few remodeling changes, but is still successfully in operation. It was also the first casino in Michigan to introduce slot machines and "Live" Keno. Kings Club Casino is a 6,500 sq ft one floor casino with over 250 slot and video poker machines. Denominations from 1 cent to 5 dollars. Kings Club is also home to Chum's Cafe whose specialty is a fresh local whitefish dinner basket. The casino also offers Gift of the Month, Canadian Day, Michigan Day and Seniors' Day specials. There is also shuttle Service from Kings Club to nearby Bay Mills Resort and Casino. |
